Correct Monitor Distance for Eye Strain Prevention
Your monitor should be at arm's length. Here's why distance matters more than you think.
Monitor distance affects both your eye muscles and your neck. Too close forces your eyes to converge and focus hard, straining the ciliary muscles that control your lens. Too far makes you lean forward, straining your neck. The ideal distance is roughly one arm's length — about 50–70 cm from your eyes to the screen. A simple test: sit back in your chair and extend your arm — your fingertips should just touch the screen.
