Wrist Rest: How to Use It Correctly (Most People Get This Wrong)
Using a wrist rest incorrectly can worsen your pain. Learn the right way to use one.
The most common mistake: resting your wrists on the wrist rest while typing. This compresses the carpal tunnel and restricts blood flow. A wrist rest is for palm support between typing bursts — set it in front of your keyboard so your palms can land on it during micro-breaks. While actively typing, your wrists should float neutrally above the keyboard with no contact points. Your palms should touch the rest, not your wrists.
